My Experience with The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil:

My standard skin type information – I have oily khổng lồ combination skin which gets dull & dehydrated very easily – due lớn my lousy eating habits và my horrid sleeping patterns (and age!!!!) Also, I giảm giá with periodic acne and the scars left over from previous ones!

You would have read numerous review on IMBB for Rose Hip Oil as well as its various benefits. Rose Hip Oil is a lightweight oil which makes it suitable for girls with dry skin & even someone with normal or oily skin. Considering it contains lanoleic acid, it is supposed to lớn be excellent in countering signs of ageing caused by photosensitivity và sun damage. Couple of things to note here – The Ordinary’s Rose Hip Oil is 100% Organic & Cold Pressed. Why is this aspect important?

Organic – This means that the hàng hóa is grown organically – i.e. Without the use of chemicals và pesticides. This makes the process labour intensive – hence, higher cost of such products. However, considering that the sản phẩm is không lấy phí from all chemicals, the product has better nutrient value/more nutrients. Growing products organically is also better for the ecosystem, but I will not get into that.

Cold pressed oil can be derived from a product by a complex method of cold pressing it or by using substantial heat. So, the edge that The Ordinary has, which is their price point, may be lost in context to lớn this product. Having said that, vày note, that in the case of a number of local brands available in the market – you may not really know what is actually inside the bottle. A number of time, it might not be pure rose hip seed oil but a concoction made out of Rose Hip Seed oil in a cheaper oil base. At least when it comes to a known brand, I refer lớn the parent Company, Diciem, you know the content in the bottle is the same as what has been printed on top, it is 100% Rose Hip Seed oil.

Now, finally, coming lớn the product in hand – the oil comes packaged in the typical “The Ordinary” packaging. It constitutes of a glass bottle with a dropper dispenser. The same comes packaged in a plain trắng cardboard box with all the application instructions mentioned on the bottle và the box both. The packaging pretty much stays the same for all products except the photosensitive ones which are in a darker bottle – like this product.

The oil itself is amber in colour, which is the natural colour of the oil. There is no added colour or fragrance. It smells a little off, but then, skincare shouldn’t really smell pleasant or rather – need not smell pleasant. More often than not, the pleasant smell is due to added fragrance, which can actually be a skin irritant.

Application: This oil should be applied on a clean face post your toning steps and application of all other water-based skincare – like your serum & treatments. About 3 drops are sufficient for the whole face.

Texture: The oil is fairly lightweight. Even on my oily skin, it absorbs quite easily – it takes about a minute or two. I prefer to mix it with a face cream, I feel this helps absorb it even more quicker. The oil should ideally be the last step in skincare – you may/may not want khổng lồ follow it up with a moisturiser depending on your skin type. It being a light oil – someone with dry skin tone might need additional moisturiser on top.

Efficacy: lớn ease me into the process of applying this, I started off using this by mixing 2-3 drops of the oil with my Belif Moisturising Bomb. The first time that I had applied the combination, I was fairly blown away with the results. In the morning, my skin felt plump, moisturized, relaxed. The moisture retention và plumpness was so effective that the area around my eyes felt rested & the fine lines around my eyes seemed lesser. A point to cảnh báo is also that before I started using this, I was off my skincare routine for about a couple of weeks. Why? One of the products that I was testing had given me a bad reaction plus I was going through some exhausting days và would be so drained out that I couldn’t put in that extra 5 minutes in the night for skincare routine. I’d just fall into bed. Needless lớn say, my skin wasn’t in a good shape when I started this product, so obviously the results were more distinctly visible. If you have a strong skincare game on, you will still get results but they won’t be as distinct on the first night itself.

Continued usage of the oil – sometimes mixed with the moisturiser and sometimes on its own – have resulted in locking in moisture for my “ageing” skin – which tends khổng lồ get dehydrated. So, my skin definitely looks nourished, healthy & has a natural (non-greasy) glow. Has it totally revised the signs of sun damage? I’d say, not yet, but I vị feel the difference in the skin and I have hope that continued usage will definitely help me to lớn get there.
